About Us

Kathryn and UziStomping Girl Winery, inspired by our family's three generation winemaking history, is a family owned and operated winery currently producing Pinot Noir.

We founded Stomping Girl® in 2008 in honor of my grandmother who started our family winemaking tradition and recruited us to stomp grapes during the harvest.

Fond childhood memories abound of my grandmother making wine on our family property in Israel.  She was an independent, resourceful woman who recruited my younger sister to stomp the grapes with her bare feet.  Years later, while wine tasting and visiting relatives in Burgundy, we were inspired by these childhood memories and decided to revive the family's winemaking tradition.

We began making wine in our home wine cellar in 2003, enlisting the help of our family (namely our 3 children) as my grandmother Esther had done so many years prior.  As our fondness for winemaking grew, so did our production.  We created a large underground winemaking space and soon had a great group of friends helping and enjoying the wine with us.

In 2008, we started our commercial label, Stomping Girl, named in honor of Esther my winemaker grandmother, my sister who stomped the grapes and our modern "stomping girls" who also work in the cellar.
